The newly released Mac Pro starts at $5,999 containing an 8-core Intel Xeon witha a clock speed of 3.5GHz. Along with 32GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD, and a Radeon Pro 580X graphics card. Although, that’s just the base configuration, the others are as follows.
- Most expensive; 28-core, 56 threads, base clock of 2.5GHz, 4.4 GHz boost clock, 66.5MB cache, price unknown.
- 24-core, 48 threads, 2.7 GHz base clock, 4.4GHz boost clock, 57MB cache, price unknown.
- 16-core with 32 threads, 3.2GHz base clock, 4.4 GHz boost clock, 38MB cache, price unknown.
- 12-core, 24 threads, with 3.3GHz base clock, and 4.4GHz boost clock, 31.25MB cache, price unknown.
- 8-core, 16 threads, 3.5GHz base clock and 4.0 GHz boost clock with 24.5MB cache, $5,999.
The Mac Pro is no longer following the “Trash Can” design and is now a cheese grater. It contains 12 physical DIMM RAM slots, and 6 channels.

These new Mac Pro’s are meant for the creative and professional crowds (hence the “Pro”)
